Chargd — User Guide

Welcome to Chargd: invoices, quotes and payments for solo freelancers and small businesses. Everything runs locally on your Mac, no accounts, no monthly fees, no waiting on a server.

This guide walks through every screen in the app with click-by-click steps and screenshots, every button you need to click is circled in red, so you can find the answer yourself before reaching out for support.

Note on screenshots: Most screens have real, annotated screenshots. A handful of modals and builder screens still show a "Screenshot coming soon" placeholder while those shots are captured.

Quick start: your first invoice in 10 minutes

  1. Finish onboarding, tell Chargd about your business (2 minutes).
  2. Add a client.
  3. Create an invoice, add line items, and send it.
  4. Record a payment once your client pays.

That's the whole loop. Everything else in the app supports this core workflow.
