Licence & billing
Look up a lost key, deactivate a machine, or manage your order.
Lemon Squeezy customer portal ↗Getting started
A Mac running macOS 11 or later. There's nothing else to install, no account, no email verification, no server setup.
No. Chargd has no login. Open the app and start invoicing, everything is stored on your Mac from the first launch.
Yes. The free tier is the full app with a capped number of clients and invoices, three templates, and no time limit. There's also a one-tap sample data set if you want to explore a populated app before entering your own.
Yes, always. Chargd makes no network requests during normal use: creating invoices, generating PDFs, and recording payments all happen entirely on your device.
Licensing & billing
Yes. $49 once, no subscription, no renewal. All v1.x updates are included free, and you only ever pay again if you choose to upgrade to a future major version.
30 days, no questions asked. Refunds are handled through Lemon Squeezy, our payment processor.
Up to 3 Macs per licence. If you're at the limit and need to add a new machine, visit your Lemon Squeezy customer portal, find your order, and deactivate an old machine before activating the new one.
Visit app.lemonsqueezy.com/my-orders and look up your order using the email you paid with. If you can't find it there, email support@chargd.pro with your order number and we'll look it up.
Open Settings → Licence and check the activation status. If it shows "Not activated," re-enter your licence key. If activation fails, check your internet connection and try again: activation needs a one-time connection even though the app runs offline afterwards. If it still won't activate, email support@chargd.pro with your order number.
No. Activation happens once; after that, your licence is validated locally on your machine. Chargd does run a periodic background check roughly every 30 days to catch refunds or revocations, but a failed check never locks you out of an already-activated copy.
Data & backup
Entirely on your Mac, in a local database. Nothing is uploaded anywhere, not even to us.
Go to Settings → Data → Export Backup. This saves a complete, human-readable backup you can restore from at any time, or open directly in a text editor if you're curious what's inside.
Yes. Deleted records go to Trash rather than being removed immediately. Look for the Trash section under Settings → Data to restore anything you didn't mean to delete.
Export a backup from Settings → Data on your old Mac, install Chargd on the new one, and restore the backup from the same menu.
Troubleshooting
Restore your most recent backup via Settings → Data → Restore Backup. This message means Chargd detected a problem with the database file on launch and stopped before it could make things worse. Your last backup will be intact.
Wait a moment and try again. This usually means another part of the app is mid-write; Chargd retries automatically and this resolves itself within a few seconds.
Update Chargd to the latest version from the Download page. You opened a data file created by a newer release than the one currently installed.
Probably not. Reopen the invoice or quote you were working on and Chargd will offer to restore your unsaved draft, comparing it against your last saved version so you can choose what to keep.
Chargd checks for updates once per launch and never installs anything without your approval. You'll see the download size before you confirm, and every release is code-signed and notarized.
